About The Summit

 My efforts to raise funds in support of the Fred Hutch Cancer Center  inspired the idea of the Emerging Frontiers in Oncology summits.  The first event, held in 2019,  was hugely successful. Not only did I achieve my fundraise goal as part of the Timmerman Climb to Fight initiative (supporting the Fred Hutch),  I was also able to bring together ~100 biotech execs, investors, and operators. They engaged a diverse set of panelists as they discussed the future of oncology. After the first event I received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm & interest to annualize the event, the rest is history as they say! 

Each year I develop a timely, and provocative theme that fosters deep thinking around the root drivers of innovation (research), core elements  that are required  for translation (innovation), and the skills necessary to enhance the likelihood of success (people). 

There are three panels, each centered on  an area core to fostering growth in the biotech industry:

1. Research (fire-side chat), is where it all starts
2. Innovation (debate-style panel), is how we implement & build around scientific breakthroughs 
3. People (round table), is the driving force behind it all

Lastly, the setting is intimate, with a curated list of attendees. 

To date I've supported organizations like Damon Runyon,  Fred Hutch Cancer Center, and Life Science Cares through my fundraising efforts.
