Emerging Frontiers in Oncology began with a simple idea: bring together the people shaping the future of cancer research and drug development in a setting that encourages candid, ambitious conversation, while supporting organizations advancing cancer research and patient impact.
The idea grew out of my involvement with the Timmerman Climb to Fight in support of Fred Hutch Cancer Center. In 2019, alongside that fundraising effort, I convened ~100 biotech executives, investors, scientists, and operators for the first Emerging Frontiers in Oncology summit.
What began as a single gathering quickly became something larger. The response from the community was immediate, and Emerging Frontiers evolved into an annual forum focused on the ideas, people, and scientific advances that have the potential to reshape oncology.
Each year, we develop a timely and often provocative theme designed to challenge conventional thinking and explore what will define the next frontier in cancer oncology.

The format is deliberately intimate, with a curated group of participants and discussions designed to encourage genuine debate, new perspectives, and meaningful connections across academia, biotech, venture capital, and industry.
From the beginning, Emerging Frontiers has also been grounded in giving back.
Through the summit and related fundraising efforts, I have supported organizations including Damon Runyon, Fred Hutch Cancer Center, Life Science Cares, the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, and the American Association of Cancer Research.
My goal is for Emerging Frontiers to continue serving both purposes: creating a forum for the conversations that can shape the future of oncology, while supporting the research and communities that ultimately make that future possible.
